Sea
Princess, our home for the next 106 days, was not ready for boarding until 4 pm
because it was late arriving in Sydney due to severe storms in the Tasman. The people who boarded in Auckland told us
that the bow of the ship dipped so far into the water that the propellers at
the back of the ship were out of the water.
Evidently, the ceiling on level six fell through the atrium and hit the
people playing cards on the deck below.
Some had to have stitches as a result of this and there were a couple of
broken ankles as well. We spent our time
waiting to board having oysters and prawns at the Hyatt. A great way to start a holiday. Boarding a ship is so much easier than plane
travel with regard to security and passport control. The whole process took us about five
minutes. So now we are on board and this
is the view from our cabin. The second photo shows the scene just as the ship is about to leave.
Follow us on the Sea Princess as we travel west around the world in 2019. We hope you enjoy the posts and photos. Bill and Barbara Healy
