We had a very lazy day on board ship
today. A number of activities we had
intended to participate in went on without us but we did get to the talk on
Portland and we never miss the production shows because the singing and dancing
is so good. Michael, the male singer
said they were concerned about the show tonight because they had a very scary
rehearsal. The sea was a little rough
today with the ship moving up and down and sideways. Up till now we have had very calm seas. Anyway, the show went well on a wobbly stage,
although I think they adapted their moves and removed the parts where the man
catches the girl. When two men carried
the female singer aloft, there was a third man who waked around them holding
her. It was all so professionally done
that it was difficult to know whether things had been slightly changed. In their show, Talk of the Town, they sang
songs from Dusty Springfield, Tom Jones, Neil Diamond and Cat Stephens.
Our Captain told us that we will be
about three hours late arriving into Dover this morning because the had to
close the engines down last night while we slept in order to fix a propeller
that had failed. Sadly, our wonderful
Italian Captain Tony Ruggero, will be disembarking in Dover and we will be getting
an English Captain for the rest of the voyage.
We are now half way through our cruise.
At the end of each section of the cruise, there is a procession to thank the chefs and waiters in the dining room.
