Tuesday July 23 – At Sea

I went to a talk on travel today,  It was just so so.  The speaker’s husband is going to talk on surfing next week.  Not sure how suitable this will be for the large number of people on walking sticks, walkers and wheelchairs.  This is the thing I miss most on this cruise, interesting speakers talking on interesting subjects.  Well, we have great entertainment so I suppose we can’t have everything.

Bill went to line dancing but I still can’t raise my arm.  No dancing for me for the moment.  I now have my arm in a sling as I seemed to keep jarring it.  However, there is a slight improvement.
It is wonderful to have some leisure days at sea after brain overload in many different places.  We have slowed down so much that we missed booking the Machu Picchu trip and are now on a wait list for it.  Cross fingers.  I also missed signing up for a Spanish class.  The crew member taking this class had a fifteen minute sign up time.  He expected about twenty and got two hundred people signing up.  I went to sleep and missed out.  Anyway, I do not see this particular member of the crew coping very well with a large number so I won’t try to push my way in.  Relax is the name of the days for now.
The days are now pleasantly warm, the scarves and jumpers have disappeared and passengers are now out on deck again soaking in the warm sun.  We had drinks on our balcony tonight before another formal night.  Our singers and dancers performed on a stage moving up and down with the waves.  Passengers wobbled from side to side as they walked down corridors tonight but the performers were sure footed and made the catching of other dancers look easy.  Tonight’s performance was called On Tour.

Afternoon tea - sometimes!
