We had a talk on Machu Picchu today for
the 86 people who are going on this Princess tour on Monday. We leave the ship and fly to Cusco on a
chartered flight. We then visit Koricancha
Temple and Sacsayhuama which is pronounced as Sexy Woman. We overnight at a hotel in Cusco then go to
Machu Picchu the next day. We then
return for a second night at the same five star hotel. The next day we fly to Lima where we pick up
our ship. We will be at over 13,000
feet, so altitude sickness is a real possibility. We have been told that the team accompanying
us will have oxygen if we need it and that we should drink the cacao tea that
will be given to us as this helps with altitude sickness. This is from the same plant that cannabis
comes from but does not have the same affect as if you snort it.
The interesting thing is that at Cusco
airport, there is a falconier who uses falcons to chase away the birds when the
plane is taking off. Because of the high
altitude, the plane takes a long time to lift and it is important that it does
not suck birds into its engine during this time.
We were entertained by a New Zealand
comedian tonight. He was really funny
and made us laugh.
