There was a rumour aboard the ship that
we were approaching something called land and that there would be no view of
the sea any longer. We found this hard
to believe as we knew that we lived on a water planet with no such thing. Just
like in the movie “Water World”. However, as we watched from our balcony this
afternoon, the land rumour came true as we saw a beautiful bird with large wing
span soar effortlessly on the wind created by our ship. Land ahoy!
We
had another 25 hour day and are now six hours behind Melbourne.
The highlight of today was a
performance by the choir, featuring Bill Healy and Sue McGarry. Sue is in the green. She was a stand out performer. The concert also featured a ukulele group of
30 who sang and strummed. Both this group
and the 120 choir members were most impressive.
As they say “it was alright on the night” despite a deficiency in
practice time for the choir.
Another formal night with pre-dinner drinks in The Nook Whisky Bar.
