Friday July 12 – At Sea

Sea days are a great time to relax after busy shore days but today we had to be up reasonably early for a safety drill.  When you are on a long cruise it is the law that you have a safety drill every thirty days.  So, this was our third safety drill.  You get marked off electronically so there is no way that you can escape.

We have a new captain, Christopher Lye.  He is English and likes to talk over the PA system.  He is quite interesting but can be annoying when you are in the middle of a movie and the movie keeps going but the sound cuts out.

Today, we joined Cruise Critic and went to a meet and greet session with them.  We may do some tours with them and are just checking them out at present.

There was a formal night tonight and after dinner we had another performance by our professional song and dance group.  Tonight there were many songs by Michael C Brown and Rachel who both have fantastic voices.  They sang songs from musicals such as Sweet Charity, Rent, Mama Mia, Miss Saigon, Priscilla, The Lion King, Hair Spray, Chess and Sister Act.
