We woke to
more fog this morning but the weather is starting to get warmer. Our Captain told us that they are having a
heat wave in New York and it will be 370C tomorrow when we
arrive. The big thing tomorrow is
immigration. America demands a face to
face with all passengers and crew. The
officials on board have sent out schedules of when we have to front for this so
that 3000 people are not all lining up at one time. They have taken into account the times of the
various tours that people have booked for.
However, Hutch says that some young newbie can come on board after we
land and change the whole procedure. We
just have to wait for further information.
The crew seem a bit edgy.
The choir
performed in the atrium today. They sang
an Abba medley. The acoustics in the
atrium are very good and I had a birds eye view as I stood on the seventh floor
and watched the singers down on the fifth floor. Bill here: Emily organised our choir this leg of the journey and
did an excellent job with some pretty ordinary talent to work with. Mamma Mia,
Super Trouper, Take a Chance on Me, Knowing Me Knowing You, SOS and Waterloo
had the audience demanding more but alas that was the entire list of Abba songs
practised by us. Always leave your audience in this state. They will remember
you. As yet no reviews posted online and no contracts offered for future
performances.
We are going
to drinks with one of the people in the choir now, then we will have dinner and
a show. Tonight, the crew are putting on
the show. Some of the room stewards and
waiters will be involved. We often hear
them singing as they go about their work and at lunch the other day our waiter
kept bursting into song. The crew come
from many different countries. Then, at
11 pm New York time we hope to watch Geelong play Hawthorn. P.S. We lost!
